The data comes from several sources, including information forms completed by the schools themselves, school websites, journalistic sources (i.e., newspapers, radio, television, etc.), the Systematic Evaluation of Adolescent Recovery Services school survey, research studies, and personal communication.
With no central depository of recovery high school information, we rely on people like you to have the most accurate data as possible. Please email Dr. Finch directly at andrew.j.finch@vanderbilt.edu with any information you may have.
This in an iterative resource, and only schools that we have been able to confirm as a recovery high school are included on the list. The Association of Recovery Schools has developed a process for determining whether a school is an actual recovery high school. If you believe a school is missing, please contact Dr. Finch at andrew.j.finch@vanderbilt.edu. Similarly, we may have included a school on the list that upon further investigation was not actually a recovery high school. In that case, the school may be removed from the list.
Based on the variability of data available, we do not have the same information for each school. To the extent the evolution can be describe succinctly, it is included here. If a general description suffices, that is what is listed. This resource is not intended to provide an exhaustive description of schools, but rather an accurate overview of the program.
